Powered AV is a professional wedding entertainment company based in Ottawa, Ontario. DJ Shah provides custom music services for his clients, as well as photo booth rentals, audiovisual setups, and live streaming. He regularly works with couples in the National Capital Region, though he is happy to travel throughout the country, having regularly traveled to Perth, Wakefield and further.

The owner (DJ Shah) has over 15 years of experience in the professional disc jockey. He uses state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring the highest quality sound for each event. Working closely with his clients, he offers consultations to discuss music preferences, announcements to be made, and more. Powered AV has an extensive song library with genres to suit a wide variety of tastes, including pop, rock, and classic favourites. Couples can also avail of custom up-lighting services to match the mood of their celebration.

Powered AV is fully insured and have all the proper licensing that a professional DJ company should have.

Photo booth

The standard photo booth package:

3 hours of use (different lengths can be discussed)
1 Host/Hostess to aid your guests in getting the most out of their experience
Props (optional)
Sequin backdrop (others can be discussed with enough notice)
Client provided Logo and or caption added to the photo layout
On site printing
Digital copy of all photos after the event

When we decided to book, he met with us to go over the event and how he can assist with almost all parts of it. During the meeting, we went through a questionnaire that addresses what songs we wanted to play during certain parts of the ceremony as well the mood of the music throughout the night. Our guests were also very pleased with his service and were free to request music as the night went on.

Of special note, our ceremony was an outdoor wedding, but due to the time of year (september), we had some family members that could not be outside due to the temperature. Shahin went above and beyond to have it setup so that the ceremony was broadcasted inside for the affected family members which allowed them to not miss a beat.

I would highly recommend Powered AV to anyone who is looking for an audio expert who really knows his stuff to bring the ceremony and party to life.

A DJ is an essential part of an event. For us, when selecting a DJ for our wedding reception, we really wanted to make sure we chose the right one because, let’s be honest, a bad DJ can ruin the night and a great DJ can turn the wedding reception into an epic night!

Our original wedding date was postponed due to COVID and he was extremely flexible. We didn’t know until a week or two before the wedding whether we would be in stage 3 and have access to the hall inside or if it would all be in a tent. The timeline for the day of also changed due to the weather. Powered AV brought two sets of equipment so both spaces would be covered and took care of all the little details with our MC and venue so we didn’t need to worry about it. The day of the wedding was stressful enough so we were very appreciative for their flexibility and not to have to worry about it. We were very impressed with a thorough questionnaire they provided us in advance in regards to music and what we had envisioned for the night. The music was fantastic, it was exactly what we had envisioned and everyone was up dancing and engaged. If you are looking for an experienced, professional, entertaining, reliable (regular follow up emails) DJ then I would highly recommend. On top of that he was very personable and enthusiastic about making our day special. Honestly there is not one thing I would change. The experience was amazing.
